This year, Fairyloot finally launched a book only option for their monthly YA subscription. I have been looking forward to this option and was excited to get my first book.
The May theme was ‘Cloak & Dagger’ and the book chosen was The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah.
Fairyloot’s edition has an exclusive cover with a colour change to the flaming pattern on the front, switching from orange to purple. The spine is also purple. After having read the book, I think the colour choice is a nice touch and can see why it was chosen.
The edges are sprayed purple and there is artwork on the endpapers by @jhocaaa. I love the foil embossing by @artbyemmilinne on the hardcover. This edition is signed by the author.
Overall, I really like this edition and think all the exclusive finishes go very well together and capture the book well.

Gorgeous book… the plot, not so much. :/ I enjoyed parts of it, but it was a bit underwhelming for me.
Yes I felt the same way. I was really looking forward to it, and it had elements I enjoy, but I too found it a bit underwhelming overall.
