Fairyloot July 2020 Unboxing

I have to say I wasn’t that excited for this box but I absolutely loved it! Even though the theme sounded good, I hadn’t read many of the books mentioned in the fandom list, so wasn’t sure how much I would like the items. However, most of the items you can enjoy even if you’ve not read the book they’re inspired by which I was really glad about.

Fairyloot is a UK-based YA fantasy subscription box. If you subscribe, you get a box a month which includes a hardback book and 5-6 exclusive goodies around a theme.

The theme for July was Resilient Royals! So let’s see what was inside…

Food tray with artwork by @eviebookish – This item is absolutely gorgeous! And I love that I can appreciate it, and the quote, even though I haven’t read Winter by Marissa Meyer.

Royal card holder with art by @jezhawk – The design is inspired by The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross, which I haven’t read either. I can imagine this coming in handy at some point, plus the artwork is lovely.

Magnetic bookmarks by @isabelwriter09 – These bookmarks are based on magical animals from Woven in Moonlight. I think the artwork is by the author herself which is pretty cool. Magnetic bookmarks are my favourite kind so I will definitely be using these!

Ash Princess candle by @inthewickoftime – Another book I haven’t read – The Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian. I don’t really use candles but this one does smell amazing.

Crescent City cushion cover designed by @chattynora – I haven’t read Sarah J. Maas’s latest book yet as I’m waiting for it to come out in paperback. This is a stunning cushion cover and it’s made me really excited for the book!

Art print illustrated by @dominiquewesson – Art prints are one of my least favourite items because I just never know what to do with all the paper items that come in book boxes. This one is of characters from The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden which I haven’t read.

This month’s tarot cards are designed by Katherine Britt and are inspired by the Shades of Magic series by V. E. Schwab.

The book is Shielded by Kaylynn Flanders! This exclusive edition has an exclusive cover, black sprayed edges and is signed. The original cover has a blue background rather than green. The author letter has art by @faeriereverie.

Overall, I loved this box! My favourite item is probably the magnetic bookmarks as I will get a lot of use out of them. I also love the tray and the cushion cover. I’d heard of this book but it isn’t one I was desperate to read. Still, it sounds like a classic fantasy so I am looking forward to it and hopefully I will enjoy it!
