June is my birthday month so I was excited to get this box since it was due to come around my birthday. Unfortunately, it was delayed a couple of weeks due to the coronavirus so it didn’t come until about mid-July.
Fairyloot is a UK-based YA fantasy subscription box. If you subscribe, you get a box a month which includes a hardback book and 5-6 exclusive goodies around a theme.

The theme for this box was ‘A Different Kind of Magic’ and they revealed it would be a two-book box which is always awesome!

Bone Season Socks designed by Team Fairyloot – I haven’t read The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon but socks are always handy and bookish socks are fun items to get!

Elemental Coasters by @noverantale – These coasters are inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, which I haven’t seen. Even though I haven’t seen the show, I can still enjoy this item which is really nice. These coasters are great quality and have lovely designs. I got another set in a previous Fairyloot box which have retained their colour etc. even though they’ve had water spilled on them. I’ve had the problem of colours running/blurring when coasters get wet so I was very happy that didn’t happen with my Fairyloot ones.

Starless Sea Patch designed by @dustandpages – Another item inspired by a book I haven’t read! This patch is inspired by The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. I’m not keen on patches in boxes as I never know what to do with them.
Shadow Pin by @jezhawk – The quote on the pin is ‘love is an excellent motivator to kill’ from The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller, which was one of my favourite reads of the year so far so I was happy to have an item related to this book.

Wonderland Tea Strainer – This Alice in Wonderland-inspired item is so cute and useful too! I love how the little label has ‘Drink Me’ on it!

Art print by @arz28 – The characters on this print are from Blood Heir from Amelie Zhao which I read at the beginning of the year and enjoyed. The facial expressions in this illustration are great.

The ‘bonus’ book from this box was The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna. This is an early finished copy. The release date of the book was pushed back and it won’t be published until spring 2021. This stunning exclusive edition has a foiled-cover and sprayed edges.

I’m not sure who is on this month’s tarot cards as the spoiler card had the wrong info for them. I’m guessing they might be from one of V. E. Schwab’s books but I’m not sure.

This month’s book is Forest of Souls by Lori M. Lee! This edition has an exclusive cover, artwork on the reverse of the dust jacket by @arz28 and is signed. The author letter has character artwork on the back by @arz28 too. This book was an anticipated release for me until I discovered that there may be spiders in it! I really don’t do spiders so I was a bit horrified to discover the spider hidden under the cover! I’m hoping there won’t be too many in the book as I really like the sound of the story!

Overall, I was really happy with this box. It’s always great to get two books! My favourite items were the bonus book as the foiling and sprayed edges are gorgeous, and the coasters, tea strainer and socks.
