Time for another unboxing! Illumicrate’s special box for Chain of Gold was delayed due to coronavirus but it was totally worth the wait! They packed so much into this box and all of the items have great designs and are well made.

Mortal Instruments blanket with artwork by Yoshi Yoshitani – It was hard to get a good picture of this since it’s so big! The artwork includes the Mortal Cup, the Mortal Sword and the Mortal Mirror. It’s soft and snuggly and will be perfect for when I’m reading.

Clandestine tea for one set designed by Chatty Nora – Well I was certainly not expecting to get a teapot in this box! Since Chain of Gold is set in Edwardian era England, this seems a very appropriate item!

Shadowhunters playing cards with artwork by Merwild and designed by Chatty Nora – This is a stunning set of cards with artwork of characters and objects from The Infernal Devices series and Chain of Gold.

Foiled print duo with artwork by Arz – These prints are just amazing. One features the cast of The Infernal Devices and the other has the cast of Chain of Gold. They are such good quality prints on thick card. I will have to find somewhere to display them because they probably the best art prints I’ve received.

Bridge through time triptych with artwork by Rosiethorns88 – This item is designed to look like stained glass windows and is just beautiful! I love the artwork, which features Tessa, Will and Jem from the Infernal Devices series. What is great about this item is that it’s free standing. I often don’t know what to do with art prints, but don’t have that issue with this one as it stands nicely on my bookshelf with my Cassandra Clare books.

Cortana letter opener designed by Fable & Black – Now, of course I don’t have use for a letter opener. But that’s not going to stop me from loving this item.

This exclusive edition of Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare has an exclusive foiled cover, quote on the spine and sprayed edges. It’s stamp signed and also comes with the bonus material included in all first editions.

Overall I was absolutely thrilled with this box! The Illumicrate team seem to have thought through really well how all the items would fit together nicely. There is a mix of useful and display items and there isn’t a single thing I dislike. I’m very impressed with the quality of this box and would definitely get another of their special edition boxes in future.
