Shadow and Bone season 2 is out! I've only watched the first episode so far and I can't wait to watch the rest. Season 1 was fantastic so I'm excited to see how they adapt the next part of the story. The Six of Crows books are my favourite from the Grishaverse and I just love that we get to see the characters in the Shadow and Bone series.
I absolutely adore this @fairyloot Daughter of the Pirate King special edition set! These books are so beautiful in real life, the foiling is stunning and the sprayed edges are so detailed. They are definitely some of the most beautiful books I own!
I just love books with foil on the hardcover, whether they come without a dust jacket or if there's a secret foil cover waiting underneath!
The prequel to Priory releases in just a few days! šŸ‰ I can’t wait to return to this world in A Day of Fallen Night. I’m also very excited that I’ll be going to the Norwich event on Samantha Shannon’s tour on Monday! It will be my first bookish event since before the pandemic started so I’m really looking forward to it.
Earlier this month I finished reading The Jasmine Throne, my first book of 2023! The pacing was too slow for me and I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the pace had been a bit quicker, especially in the first half. The world building, characters and plot were all very strong though, and I enjoyed the multi POVs and Sapphic romance!
When looking for an audiobook, I decided I needed a change from fantasy and picked out an Agatha Christie novel. I’ve read several of her works before and always enjoy them. This time, I decided to go to the beginning and read the very first Poirot book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, which was also Agatha Christie’s first novel. I’m nearing the end and awaiting the big reveal of the murderer’s identity!
